Wilton Expects Focus

The children have been working very hard this week, getting ready for the King’s Coronation, working well together showing great Collaboration.

Next week the children will focus on Compassion as we get ready for SATs and Mental Health Awareness week.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend.

Y5/6 Mrs Harding Class Round up

The last few weeks have been very busy in our year group as our year 6’s work hard preparing for their SATs and the year 5’s work really hard and are being really supportive.

However, this has not stopped other learning in our year group.

In late March the children completed their level 1 Bikeability and some of them also managed to get out on the road to complete their level 2.  We were very proud of how well they behaved and how seriously they took riding on the road.

We have also been looking at 2 different religions – Sikhism and Buddhism.

We learnt about how Sikhs believe everyone is equal and about one of their festivals – VAISAKHI.  We also learnt that whilst Buddhism is more a personal, spiritual religion, they too believe that everyone can achieve enlightenment and how Buddhists have shrines in their homes.

In Art, we used the skills we learnt when studying Jean-Michel Basquiat to create a portrait of King Charles III in his style to be used with our Coronation celebrations.

Also in Art, we have now started to look at a new artist – Joe Cornish.  We have been looking at how natural light can affect a photograph.

Breakfast Club

Did you know we do a breakfast club every morning? You can bring your child in, knowing they’ll get a good breakfast before they start school.

This is open to everyone and can be booked in the clubs section on the school gateway app.

It costs £1.20 for each morning your child attends.

This will continue in the new term.
