In computing last half term, we were learning how to create an algorithm to move a sprite in a computer program. We had to practice giving clear instructions to each other to move around the classroom using the directional vocabulary of right, left, quarter and half turn. Once we did that we had to program the sprite and then debug any errors.
We have studied the local artist McKenzie Thorpe and created our own painting using a variety of materials such as paint, charcoal and pastels. we were really proud when McKenzie tweeted a response to our pictures.
We have just begun our Geography for this term. We will be comparing Middlesbrough with the Australian capital of Sydney. We have been using globes, google earth and atlas to help us locate the continents around the world.
Next week will be week 3.
