Happy New Year. We hope everyone has had a great time over the Christmas period. The children have come back ready to learn and we are looking forwards to lots of exciting learning and opportunities this term. We would like to welcome Miss Bass to the team who will be teaching in the Y1/2 class, and also Mrs Bell who will be supporting with pastoral and welfare issues in a joint role across both Wilton and Dormanstown.
The aim for an individual child’s attendance, and that of the academy as a whole, is to be over 96%. We recognise and understand that children are ill at times, but for the most part, they should be in the academy every day. This not only develops their academic skills, but their social skills to. Friendships are much harder to create and maintain when children are not there every day.
Congratulations to Year5/6 for the best attendance last term.
Also congratulations to the following children who had 100% attendance last term;
Ruby Costello, Adam Harker, Harry Stewart, Freddie Coates, Michael Greenland, Winnie – Rose Naisbitt, Riccardo Ingrassia, Mitchell James, Isla Smith
Our lunches are provided on a 3 week rota. Next week 2 . Please discuss this with your child to help them with their choices, please note our menus have been amended for next term.
Please make sure that all items of clothing, including coats and packed lunch bags are clearly labelled with children’s names, so it is easy to find their owners.
All children have been provided with a t-shirt and shorts in a bag for PE lessons but they need to have their own trainers/plimsols in school please. Plimsols will be provided if needed. As the weather is changing, you may want to send in a tracksuit for children to wear outside during PE lessons.
PE Days are:
EYFS – Mrs Wardle – Tuesday
Y1/2 -Miss Bass – Monday
Y3/4 – Miss Norton – Wednesday
Y5/6 – Mrs Harding – Wednesday
