Wilton Expects Focus

The children showed their independence this week reflecting on their own work. The Class assembly was about the Christmas story.

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Year 1/2 Mrs Barron Class Round up

As always it’s been very busy in Y1/2 .

The children have been carrying out taste test to create their own healthy soup.  We have been chopping, peeling and grating vegetables to prepare them for the soup. Some of us enjoyed what we had made.

We have also been busy learning about what life was like when our parents and grandparents were little and have looked at how toys and technology have changed over time.

We all went to the Arc in Stockton to see the Snow Queen and loved the excitement of a live show. It was all very bright and colourful.

Our biggest job in December has been to rehearse our Nativity performance with EYFS. There were lots of songs to sing and words to learn and parents came to watch us.

We have been to St Cuthbert’s Church for carols and have really enjoyed this busy time.

MFC Foundation Competition

We need your help in designing a new warm up t-shirt that sends out a simple message that ‘Football is for Everyone’.

We want to see your creative side and design a warm up t-shirt for the players during our River-Side-By-Side game against QPR during Pride History Month (February).

The chosen winner will not only win tickets to the game but all see their tshirt come to life and professionally made so that the players themselves can wear these during warm up.

The competition will close Sunday 18th December. This Sunday!!!

Please send your entries to Amy.Campbell@mfcfoundation.co.uk

Diary Dates and Reminders

Lunch Menu

Our lunches are provided on a 3 week rota. When we return it will be week 1 . Please discuss this with your child to help them with their choices, please note our menus have been amended for next term.

School Uniform and PE days

Please make sure that all items of clothing, including coats and packed lunch bags are clearly labelled with children’s names, so it is easy to find their owners.

All children have been provided with a t-shirt and shorts in a bag for PE lessons but they need to have their own trainers/plimsols in school please. Plimsols will be provided if needed. As the weather is changing, you may want to send in a tracksuit for children to wear outside during PE lessons.

PE Days are:

EYFS – Mrs Wardle – Tuesday

Y1/2 -Mrs Barron – Monday

Y3/4 – Miss Norton – Wednesday

Y5/6 – Mrs Harding – Wednesday

Attendance

Attendance every day is vital for your child’s progress unless they are too unwell to learn. It is your responsibility to inform the academy if your child is going to be absent by 9am each day of their absence. You can contact the office on 01642 453374.

This weeks winners are Year 1 with 100! Congratulations

National Sleep Helpline

At any given time up to 40% of adults and 50% of children (this rises to 80% with a SEND diagnosis) have difficulties with their sleep. Yet in a recent survey, almost 60% of adults felt there was a lack of support for sleep issues. Sleep problems can leave people feeling isolated and lonely.

The free helpline is run by trained sleep advisors, many of whom are specialists in working with SEND. They can talk to young people directly, or parents (They can also talk to adults, including older people, about their sleep issues).

The helpline is open 5 times a week, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings 7-9pm, and Wednesday mornings 9-11am. The number is 03303 530 541.
