The children have come back ready to learn with a great attitude, and are looking super smart too! This year we will be having a focus each week on one of our Wilton Expects values. Look out for it each week so you can also talk to your children at home about it. This week we focussed on Determination after reading the book Tilda Tries Again by Tom Percival. We have seen lots of example of children being determined from our new reception children trying new foods at lunchtimes to excellent focus and determination in class.
Next week we will be focussing on Independence. Can you encourage your child at home to get themselves dressed, wash up their own pots or complete a task on their own?
The children in EYFS have had a fantastic start to the new school year. They have settled in well with new routines and have been enjoying playing with new friends and new toys. This week we have been talking about ourselves and our feelings and learning about colours in many ways.
Attendance every day is vital for your child’s progress unless they are too unwell to learn. It is your responsibility to inform the academy if your child is going to be absent by 9am each day of their absence. You can contact the office on 01642 453374.
We will share the class with the highest attendance with you.
Congratulations to all classes this week for achieving 100%. What a fantastic start to the year and your learning.
Please see the chart below to see how each day off adds up over a year.
Please make sure that all items of clothing, including coats and packed lunch bags are clearly labelled with children’s names, so it is easy to find their owners.
All children have been provided with a t-shirt and shorts in a bag for PE lessons but they need to have their own trainers/plimsols in school please. Plimsols will be provided if needed.
