First week back and what a week it has been!
The children have been showing Co-operation and Collaboration and have also been learning about World Environment day and World Ocean’s day.
Rehearsals for We Will Rock You are well under way and sounding amazing, especially with the performances in the next couple of weeks!
Next week the children will focus on courage and Compassion ready for Healthy eating week.
The last few weeks have been very busy for year 5/6 with lots of rehearsals for We Will Rock You.
We have also been studying hard including looking at Joe Cornish, a renowned photographer, whose specialty is using light and shade to capture the beauty of the Yorkshire Landscape.
The children visited Redcar Beach on a very cold, drizzly Friday afternoon and took some photos.
They had planned their compositions around shadows and sunshine, so it was a bit of a challenge but I think you’ll agree, the results are stunning!
We also had an Outdoor Adventurous Activity morning at Redcar Rugby club, where the boys learned about resilience and teamwork through problem solving activities.
Did you know we do a breakfast club every morning? You can bring your child in, knowing they’ll get a good breakfast before they start school.
This is open to everyone and can be booked in the clubs section on the school gateway app.
It costs £1.20 for each morning your child attends.
This will continue in the new term.
Attendance every day is vital for your child’s progress unless they are too unwell to learn. It is your responsibility to inform the academy if your child is going to be absent by 9am each day of their absence. You can contact the office on 01642 453374.
This weeks winners are………
61 children managed 100% attendance this week, which is fantastic! Well done to everyone.
Could we get 100% next week?
Our lunches are provided on a 3 week rota. Next weeks options will be week 2.
Tickets on sale you can call 01642 525199 or visit

If you’d like to book a session, just email the address at the bottom of the picture.
CBBC are looking for budding young designers aged 10-14 years old, (they must be aged 11 by September 1st 2023)
In each episode we will see young creative minds come together to create bold and colourful outfits reusing, re-claiming and upcycling fabulous fashion by using only vintage, second-hand and sustainable materials.
The children will need to be great designers but do not necessarily have to be great with a sewing machine as they’ll be paired with a creative who can help them cut/sew/stitch/paint their outfits within a few hours!
Please make sure that all items of clothing, including coats and packed lunch bags are clearly labelled with children’s names, so it is easy to find their owners.
All children have been provided with a t-shirt and shorts in a bag for PE lessons but they need to have their own trainers/plimsols in school please. Plimsols will be provided if needed. As the weather is changing, you may want to send in a tracksuit for children to wear outside during PE lessons.
PE Days are:
