Early Years have been carrying on our learning about woodland by exploring some more woodland stories.
The Gruffalo went missing at our school and we helped the mouse, snake, owl and fox to find him. The children made missing posters which we displayed around the academy and they went on a hunt for clues.
He was eventually found hiding under Mrs Hood’s desk!
We were very excited when a fairy door appeared on our tree outside with a tiny note from Ziggy the fairy from our story. The children wrote notes back and forth to Ziggy and made potions to help repair her broken wing.
In science, we have been making boats and testing them to see if they will float.
We have now started our learning about the seaside and have been exploring who lives in a rock pool. We are looking forward to our beach trip next week!
Did you know we do a breakfast club every morning? You can bring your child in, knowing they’ll get a good breakfast before they start school.
This is open to everyone and can be booked in the clubs section on the school gateway app.
It costs £1.20 for each morning your child attends.
This will continue in the new term.
Attendance every day is vital for your child’s progress unless they are too unwell to learn. It is your responsibility to inform the academy if your child is going to be absent by 9am each day of their absence. You can contact the office on 01642 453374.
This weeks winners are………
61 children achieved 100% attendance this week! That is a fantastic result!
Will you get 100% next week?
Our lunches are provided on a 3 week rota. Next weeks options will be week 3

CBBC are looking for budding young designers aged 10-14 years old, (they must be aged 11 by September 1st 2023)
In each episode we will see young creative minds come together to create bold and colourful outfits reusing, re-claiming and upcycling fabulous fashion by using only vintage, second-hand and sustainable materials.
The children will need to be great designers but do not necessarily have to be great with a sewing machine as they’ll be paired with a creative who can help them cut/sew/stitch/paint their outfits within a few hours!

As always, your help and support is appreciated.
