As we head to the final week of the school year, the children learned about Emmeline Pankhurst and her role in modern British Democracy.
They also worked really hard with Collaboration.
For the final week of term they’ll be looking at Compassion and kindness as they prepare to move up in the world.
Early years have had a lovely final summer term, with lots of exciting events. We have been learning about the seaside and sea creatures and comparing them to a woodland environment. We had our own rock pool in the classroom with real seaweed. Our fantastic trip to Saltburn beach and woods helped us with our learning. We had a ride on the miniature railway, played on the beach and even had a paddle in the sea!
The Reception children also had another trip out to the Funky Monkey sports festival, where we completed sports events with other schools.
Nursery had a lovely stay and play afternoon, with their families coming into school to complete lots of seaside activities.
Did you know we do a breakfast club every morning? You can bring your child in, knowing they’ll get a good breakfast before they start school.
This is open to everyone and can be booked in the clubs section on the school gateway app.
It costs £1.20 for each morning your child attends.
Attendance every day is vital for your child’s progress unless they are too unwell to learn. It is your responsibility to inform the academy if your child is going to be absent by 9am each day of their absence. You can contact the office on 01642 453374.
It was really close, but this weeks winners are………
59 children achieved 100% attendance this week, a huge well done to you all.
Can we get 100% for the final week?
As we come to the end of term, we know children are growing out of their uniform and you may be purchasing new. If you have any uniform or books bags in good condition that you would like to donate to the academy, please could you send them in either before the end of term or in September.
We are particularly short of the bigger sizes for both boys and girls.
All uniform is washed and then stored so we can support families who may need some assistance or to change children if required throughout the day.
If you do require some support with uniform, then please call into the academy and we will be able to help.
Our lunches are provided on a 3 week rota. Next weeks options will be Week 1.
Below is a list of restaurants where children can eat free or for £1 across the summer Holidays.

CBBC are looking for budding young designers aged 10-14 years old, (they must be aged 11 by September 1st 2023)
In each episode we will see young creative minds come together to create bold and colourful outfits reusing, re-claiming and upcycling fabulous fashion by using only vintage, second-hand and sustainable materials.
The children will need to be great designers but do not necessarily have to be great with a sewing machine as they’ll be paired with a creative who can help them cut/sew/stitch/paint their outfits within a few hours!
Please could our parents help to complete the survey on the link below
https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/LJKDGD8
Your help to to complete the survey would be appreciated as it provides valuable information on what parents think about childcare throughout the Borough and in particular, highlights areas where parental support for childcare is needed.
As always, your help and support is appreciated.
Please make sure that all items of clothing, including coats and packed lunch bags are clearly labelled with children’s names, so it is easy to find their owners.
All children have been provided with a t-shirt and shorts in a bag for PE lessons but they need to have their own trainers/plimsols in school please. Plimsols will be provided if needed. As the weather is changing, you may want to send in a tracksuit for children to wear outside during PE lessons.
