This week the children in Year 1 & 2 have been working on our Design Technology key question. “How does a drawbridge open and close?”
We have spent some time looking at drawbridges and exploring how they work. We then worked collaboratively to design and create a moving drawbridge. The children had to problem solve and develop their mechanism to get the drawbridge to open and close. They also had to evaluate their design and explain how they made it work.
There are videos on Showbie of their explanations.
To link with World Mental Health Day, this week’s Shine like a Star has been to complete a random act of kindness.
All of our planned events are now on the school calendar page of our website – follow the link below.

Practicing times tables is so important in improving maths and is a huge part of number work from Year 2 upwards. Please encourage your child to use their account to get as fast as they can which will help them be able to apply their knowledge to different areas of maths.
