Year 1 and 2 have been learning about Queen Elizabeth II in history and why the monarchy is important. As part of the jubilee celebrations we designed made and ate some very beautiful cakes fit for a Queen. The children used different coloured icing to manipulate and create their designs.
We have continued our science work on plants and have been monitoring the seeds we planted. There are now clear shoots and we are looking forward to seeing our sunflowers grow tall.
In music Mr Nixon has been teaching us how to follow notation and use tuned instruments to copy and repeat rhythms. We can now play Twinkle Twinkle by following the notes on the screen.

Our PE over the last half term has been cricket. We have learnt how to be fielders and batters and can now begin to play as part of a team in our assigned role.
Next weeks menu will be week 2
