This week the children have been showing their compassion in school. Our assembly focus was about caring.
Next week the children will be showing their Determination in their work.
November has been a very busy month with lots of extra curricular activities as well as an assessment week for the year 5/6s.
In PSHE, we have learned about friendships and why mutual respect is so important in any relationship, including families. We created a ‘Conscience Alley’ and the children had to decide whether to give their friend the sweet, keep it or return it to me – they did you all proud!
We celebrated Armistice Day, remembering why this day is recognised each year and wrote our feelings about the day on poppies.
We had fun doing Children in Need Maths and again talking about why this is such a fantastic charity.
Finally, the children made illuminated Tulip Shells from willow branches and tissue paper with fairy lights and bells. Some of the children then carried these in the Redcar Illuminations parade on Sunday.
We need your help in designing a new warm up t-shirt that sends out a simple message that ‘Football is for Everyone’.
We want to see your creative side and design a warm up t-shirt for the players during our River-Side-By-Side game against QPR during Pride History Month (February).
The chosen winner will not only win tickets to the game but all see their tshirt come to life and professionally made so that the players themselves can wear these during warm up.
The competition will close Sunday 18th December
Please send your entries to Amy.Campbell@mfcfoundation.co.uk
If your child normally has a packed lunch and would like Christmas dinner, please can they let the academy office know by Monday 5th December so that their child’s name can be added to the list.
Our lunches are provided on a 3 week rota. Next weeks menus will be week 3. Please discuss this with your child to help them with their choices.
Please make sure that all items of clothing, including coats and packed lunch bags are clearly labelled with children’s names, so it is easy to find their owners.
All children have been provided with a t-shirt and shorts in a bag for PE lessons but they need to have their own trainers/plimsols in school please. Plimsols will be provided if needed. As the weather is changing, you may want to send in a tracksuit for children to wear outside during PE lessons.
PE Days are:
EYFS – Mrs Wardle – Tuesday
Y1/2 -Mrs Barron – Monday
Y3/4 – Miss Norton – Wednesday
Y5/6 – Mrs Harding – Wednesday
Attendance every day is vital for your child’s progress unless they are too unwell to learn. It is your responsibility to inform the academy if your child is going to be absent by 9am each day of their absence. You can contact the office on 01642 453374.
This weeks winners are Year 5 & Year 6 with 100% congratulations!!
