At Wilton Primary Academy, we aim to give our pupils the life-skills that will enable them to embrace and utilise new technology in a socially responsible and safe way to be able to operate in the 21st century workplace. We ensure the children understand the benefits of working with technology, but also develop an understanding of the health and wellbeing impacts, particularly the dangers involved in the digital world. Pupils will become digitally literate to enable the application of ideas within other subjects. Through a variety of activities pupils will develop creativity, resilience, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. We aim to ensure children use technology safely and respectfully, developing an understanding of how technology works and communicating effectively, using relevant vocabulary, across a range of platforms whilst understanding the role digital devices play in their lives and the impact this has on them as digital citizens.
