The children have worked really hard this week being caring and compassionate while also enjoying cakes from the Macmillan coffee afternoon we had on Tuesday.
The assembly them was about Macmillan and the charity work they do.
Next week the children will be learning about Black history month and reflecting on what that means to them and showing determination in the work they do.
We raised a total of £121.48 for Macmillan from Tuesdays coffee afternoon. We want to thank everyone who brought cakes in and donated to such an amazing cause.
The children are settling in nicely and getting used to the routines and new classroom.
The year 1 children are getting used to the challenge zones and developing their independence, getting most of their tasks done by the end of the week.
Year 2 have been a great support to the new members of our class. In Geography over the last few weeks we have been learning about the four countries that make up the UK and their capital cities.
Year 2 helped the younger children to use an atlas and find out more about climates around the world that are different to the temperate weather we experience.
Learning about what humans need to grow and be healthy has really interested the children and they have been amazing at using the key vocabulary.
Our writing focus has been fairytales and the children went on a hunt for clues left around school to find out which fairytale we were reading.
The children were excited to find a goose, a cow and some magic beans. Can you tell which fairy tale it was ?
They also planted their own beans to see if we can grow a giant beanstalk.
Did you know we do a breakfast club every morning? You can bring your child in, knowing they’ll get a good breakfast before they start school.
This is open to everyone and can be booked in the clubs section on the school gateway app.
It costs £1.20 for each morning your child attends.
Attendance every day is vital for your child’s progress unless they are too unwell to learn. It is your responsibility to inform the academy if your child is going to be absent by 8.45am each day of their absence. You can contact the office on 01642 453374.
