Wilton Expects Focus

The children have been working well, showing Independence and Helpfulness.

The assembly theme this week was on the British values, tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.

For the final week of term the children will be looking at Collaboration.

Year 5/6 Mrs Harding Class Round up

We have dressed up for World Book Day and had a zoom call with the author Iszi Lawrence.  The children asked lots of interesting questions.

We presented our Sustainability Project to the school explaining about the competition we had entered and showing our adults what the project entailed.  We were delighted to receive the news that all our hard work had paid off and we had won and would receive 5 state-of-the art laptops for Wilton Primary.  The children were commended on their teamwork and fantastic presentation skills.

We have had Red Nose Day where the children tried to make me laugh with their jokes – some succeeded!  Others…well, I’ll let you judge for yourself!

Finally, we had British Science Week which was all about connections.  We were looking at the connection between the Earth, Sun and Moon.  We had a zoom call with a Scientist who helped us understand how these are connected and then we took a visit to Sutton Bank to look at the stars!

Unfortunately, it was a cloudy evening but the children still had a fantastic time geo-caching for clues to the universe and then getting the excitement of holding real pieces of meteorite, a piece of the moon and a piece of Mars.

Breakfast Club

Did you know we do a breakfast club every morning? You can bring your child in, knowing they’ll get a good breakfast before they start school.

This is open to everyone and can be booked in the clubs section on the school gateway app.

It costs £1.20 for each morning your child attends.

Diary Dates and Reminders

Attendance

Attendance every day is vital for your child’s progress unless they are too unwell to learn. It is your responsibility to inform the academy if your child is going to be absent by 9am each day of their absence. You can contact the office on 01642 453374.

This weeks winners are……………………

100% Attendance

58 children had 100% attendance this week, well done to them.

Lunch Menu

Our lunches are provided on a 3 week rota. For the last week the menu will be week 1.

School Uniform and PE days

Please make sure that all items of clothing, including coats and packed lunch bags are clearly labelled with children’s names, so it is easy to find their owners.

Y1/2 -Miss Bass – Thursday

Y3/4 – Miss Norton – Wednesday

Y5/6 – Mrs Harding – Wednesday
