Wilton Expects Focus

Summer is in full swing, the Euros are heating up (Come on ENGLAND!), end of the school year is just around the corner, but the work never stops at Wilton Primary.

On Wednesday our Year 2 ,5 and 6’s took part in NSPCC Speak Out workshops in school.

On Thursday parents got to try out a delicious meal cooked by our Year 5 and 6’s, including Rocky Road dessert!!

And today was our Quad Kids PE day with loads of cheering and activities throughout the day…..

The Assembly theme this week was about School Diversity Week and Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. The character focus was Caring and Collaboration.

Next week we celebrate the Anniversary of the NHS and how important the institution as a whole is to our society. The character focus will be Reflection and Compassion.

Don’t forget it’s our Performance in the Playground this Monday, we hope to see you all there!

Parking around the School

Please could we remind you that parking outside of the school on Pasture Lane is not permitted. On the school side, this is clearly marked out as a no parking zone. This applies on a morning, home time and throughout the day.  Parking on the other side blocks the road and it makes it difficult for cars to pass and makes it unsafe for children. If you need to drive to school, please park on the High Street,  the Grange Estate or further round Pasture Lane to ensure the road and paths around the school grounds are clear and safe for adults and children.

EYFS Mrs Wardle Class Round Up

Early years have been making the most of the lovely weather outside. Nursery have been exploring filling and pouring in the water tray and the mud kitchen. They have also been practicing their balancing on the equipment.

Our topic has been minibeasts and we have been reading the stories Super-worm and The Hungry Caterpillar.

Reception children have written fact files about minibeasts and made detailed models and pictures. We have all been on a minibeast hunt in our nature garden.

We learnt the names of the creatures we found and photographed them.

We have just taken delivery of some live caterpillars to look after. We cannot wait to watch how they turn into beautiful butterflies over the next couple of weeks.

Breakfast Club

Did you know we do a breakfast club every morning?

You can bring your child in, knowing they’ll get a good breakfast before they start school. This is open to everyone and can be booked in the clubs section on the school gateway app.

It costs £1.20 for each morning your child attends.

Attendance

Attendance every day is vital for your child’s progress unless they are too unwell to learn. It is your responsibility to inform the academy if your child is going to be absent by 8.45am each day of their absence.

You can contact the office on 01642 453374.

This weeks best attendance goes to…..

Missed Learning

17.5 days of missed learning occurred this week due to unauthorised absences. Unauthorised absences are for holidays, parents/carers not contacting the academy or any other unexplained

100% Attendance

This week we had 65 children who achieved 100% Attendance for this week, which is Fantastic!

A huge WELL DONE to you all.

Can you get 100% next week?
