Happy new year and welcome to the first blog of 2021! What a strange start to the year we are having already. We hope all of our pupils and families are staying safe and enjoying engaging with the home learning on ‘Showbie’. Please contact the academy office you need any help or would like paper copies of the work.
Critical worker places
If you require a critical worker place in the academy please contact the academy office. Places must be booked by Monday at 12 noon for the following week to allow us to plan numbers and keep staff and children as safe as possible.
Shine like a star
Our Shine like a star for this week is even more important now. We are always here to help our families so please ask if there is anything that the academy can do to support you at this challenging time. Stay safe and thank you for your support.

Home Learning
In order to provide a well sequenced curriculum to continue the education of the children, work will be added daily to your child’s Showbie account. This work should be completed daily and your child’s teacher will respond and provide feedback throughout the week. Please be aware that teaching staff are working on a rota system both within the academy teaching the critical worker and vulnerable children, and providing remote learning so they may not be available to respond immediately.
If you have any technical issues accessing the work on Showbie, or require paper copies of the work then please contact the academy for support.

Covid-19
Please see the link below for guidance following the new National lockdown. You must stay at home. The single most important action we can all take is to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives.
You should follow this guidance immediately. This is the law.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-lockdown-stay-at-home
Please remember….
If any member of your household has symptoms of COVID-19, everybody in your household must self-isolate. You should then arrange to have a test to see if you have COVID-19. You must then inform the academy if your child is still attending that you have had a Covid test and also of the result, even if it is negative. Please email – tvewilton@tved.org.uk or call the Academy office on 01642 453374.
The most important symptoms of COVID-19 are recent onset of any of the following:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
